I was reading a book that included a painting of the weeping prophet, Jeremiah and felt so moved by Jeremiah’s pose. It inspired me to reimagine Isaiah, the poetic prophet, seated in deep reflection. Isaiah sits surrounded by layers of etched gold, embodying a stillness and wisdom that transcend time. Every detail—from the techniques I learned from Nicaraguan master Omar d’Leon, to the golden powders and pen marks—invites the viewer to enter a space where the spirit speaks in symbols. The lamb beside Isaiah’s chair, a figure glimpsed in the background, and the unique design of the frame itself all reflect the mystery and depth of the prophet’s connection to the divine.
