This striking mixed media sculpture is a deeply personal exploration of spiritual transformation and protection. At the center, I placed a photograph of myself, framed by golden nails and adorned with symbols that evoke both Christian and mystical imagery. One side of my face gazes upward, illuminated by the light that emanates from the heart—a powerful symbol of divine light and love. The heart remains uncovered, radiating the energy captured in the moment the photograph was taken, reminding us of the inner light that guides us through challenges.
Atop the piece sits a silver screw bearing the image of the Cross, designed to be a portal—a sacred opening through which the soul can rise, representing the possibility of spiritual ascent and wonder. A crown completes the sculpture, symbolizing the victory of overcoming through faith, while a Catholic medal hangs below, warding off negative forces.
