“Divine Radiance,” is a photograph of a part of my painting, “O Sanctissima.” I photographed the angel in the upper left of the painting. The photograph captures an ethereal and purifying presence, imbued with an amethyst-colored light symbolizing spiritual cleansing. I used a 40-year-old camera to take detailed shots of the original painting, carefully utilizing a blue light during the painting process to be akin to natural sunlight.
I dressed in black to avoid any reflections and intuitively positioned myself to eliminate shadows, creating an atmosphere of divine radiance. The final photograph showcases a soft, otherworldly hue, transforming the piece into something mystical and transcendent, as though the subject is gently emerging from the canvas into a higher realm of light and grace.
The original angel in the painting can be seen here.
